Russian officials said the drone crashed into a building and disrupted air traffic at all civilian airports in the Russian capital
Reuters images show workers and emergency workers inspecting the roofs of damaged non-residential buildings that were hit by the drone. A Reuters witness who was in the area said he heard a “powerful bang”.
Russia’s defense ministry and Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin said there were no casualties after air defenses destroyed the drone which then crashed in the non-residential building of Moscow’s Expocentre complex in the early hours of Friday.
The Expocentre is a large exhibition pavilion and multi-purpose hall less than 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) from the Kremlin.
