Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- Greenpeace Climate & Energy Campaigner, Bondan Andriyanu views the government’s efforts to deal with Jakarta’s air pollution through artificial rain as only temporary and does not solve the core problem.
Bondan said that air pollution control should focus on addressing the root cause of the problem, which is related to the causes of air pollution, both from the transportation, industrial and power generation sectors.
Greenpeace also assesses that the government’s efforts to deal with pollution are currently in contrast to the government’s cassation efforts which are appealing to cassation regarding the decision regarding the air pollution lawsuit that has been won by residents in 2021. This decision should be carried out by the government as a form of responsibility for negligence in environmental management as well as an effort to improve air quality in Indonesia.
How does Greenpeace see the condition of Jakarta’s air pollution? What should be done to overcome this?
