Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- Executive Director of the Indonesia ICT Institute, Heru Sutadi, revealed a number of problems that cause unequal internet access in Indonesia, especially in the Disadvantaged, Frontier and Outermost (3T) regions.
The vast territory of Indonesia, with 73 thousand villages, makes it difficult to program equal distribution of internet access. It just requires re-mapping and coordination between the government and local internet providers to expand internet services.
Apart from that, Heru also said that the government should prioritize local players and if it allows foreign internet providers such as Elon Musk’s Starlink to operate, it must pay attention to the impact on the security of the health system and the military.
