Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Mobile phone or what is commonly called cellphone (HP) is an electronic device that is very close to everyday life, in fact some people cannot live without a cellphone. However, did you know that cell phones emit several different levels of radiation?
The radiation level on each cellphone has an emission volume that varies with many factors. This can include the type of device and model, age, and power of the transmitting antenna. Another factor is the distance from the nearest cell tower.
A report by Bankless Times contains a list of cellphones that have the highest levels of radiation.
This study is based on the specific absorption rate (SAR) which measures how quickly the body absorbs radio frequency energy. The US Federal Communications Commission has set a maximum SAR level of 1.6 watts per kilogram.
So which cellphone brands emit the most radiation?
Some older models from Google, Sony, Motorola, OnePlus, OPPO, and ZTE emit the highest levels of radiation.
Meanwhile, the Motorola Edge tops the list of smartphones with the highest radiation emissions, followed by the Axon 11 5G from ZTE and the OnePlus 6T.
Interestingly, several cellphones from Google Pixel, OnePlus and Sony Xperia dominate the list. The list includes the Pixel 3, Pixel 3XL, Pixel 4a, Xperia XA2 Plus, Xperia XZ1 Compact, and OnePlus 6/6T.
However, these devices are several types of Android phones that were released two to five years ago. So, the number of people using it currently is likely small.
Meanwhile, the Motorola Edge has the worst radiation emission level with a SAR measurement of 1.79 watts per kilogram.
The following is a complete list of cellphones with the highest radiation levels, quoted by CNBC Indonesia from Gizchina.
