Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (HMSP), through the Sampoerna Entrepreneurship Training Center (SETC) under the umbrella of the Sampoerna Sustainability Program for Indonesia (SUI), participated in the event Tangsel Digifest 2023. HM Sampoerna’s involvement in the Program UMKM for Indonesia (UUI) for Digital Transformation in South Tangerang (Tangsel) supports efforts to develop and empower MSME actors, especially the Tangsel regionsustainably.
The UUI Program for Digital Transformation aims to accelerate the development of MSMEs by strengthening capacity in digital marketing so that they can increase their competitiveness. This program targets around 1,000 MSMEs in DKI Jakarta and Banten Provinces.
While participating in this program, MSMEs are provided with various relevant materials, such as marketing through digital platforms to implementing digital payment systems. This program also supports the achievement of the Indonesian government with a target of 30 million actors MSMEs for go digital in 2024.
In implementing the UUI program for Digital Transformation, SETC, together with its corporate social responsibility partner the INOTEK Foundation, collaborated with several strategic partners, including the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Banten Provincial Government, Tangerang City Government, South Tangerang City Government, and Serang City Government.
The Mayor of South Tangerang, Benyamin Davnie, who attended the event, expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the UUI program for Digital Transformation in the Tangsel region which has been running since February 2023. He stressed the importance of the role of the MSME sector in the national economy and hoped that SETC-assisted MSMEs in South Tangerang could become role models to other fostered SMEs.
“Therefore, MSME actors need to be encouraged to “grade up” through go digital. This digitalization step can increase competitiveness and expand opportunities for business actors to develop their market,” said Benyamin Davnie in an official broadcast, Tuesday (15/8/2023).
Appreciation was also conveyed by the Head of the Tangsel KUMKM Office, Warman Syanudin. According to him, Tangsel Digifest is the best place to look for superior MSME products, so that they can continue to grow and go global.
“The third Tangsel Digifest is event to search for the best superior products in the City of South Tangerang. Through the collaboration of government, industry, society and stakeholders, we will continue to develop MSMEs so that they can move up a class and have quality. We also encourage them to do so go digital so as to increase competitiveness to boost the regional economy,” he said Warman.
Since its establishment in 2007, SETC has provided training to more than 67,000 MSMEs in Indonesia, both online and offline. This program is one of the various MSME training and mentoring that has been carried out as part of SETC activities for the last 16 years for MSMEs in various regions in Indonesia.
Sampoerna’s Head of External Affairs, Ishak Danuningrat, said that Sampoerna is committed to supporting the growth of MSMEs in Indonesia, including through digital transformation.
“Through the umbrella of the Sampoerna For Indonesia Sustainability Program, we always support the MSME sector to continue to grow as one of the main drivers of the national economy,” said Ishak.
On the same occasion, INOTEK Executive Director Ivi Anggaeni hopes that MSME actors participating in the UUI program for Digital Transformation can apply the knowledge they have acquired in developing their business holistically. That way, aspects of entrepreneurship, business digitalization and business implementation can be covered for the sustainability of their businesses and have an impact on driving the economy in their regions. This is of course also in line with the focus on implementing the Tangsel Digifest 2023.
“Not only that, we also hope that our UMKM friends who take part in this program can share the knowledge they have gained with other MSME actors. In this way, they can jointly contribute to the progress of the Indonesian economy,” said Ivi.
