Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The telecommunications industry plays an important and crucial role in digital transformation. This also clearly requires stability and appropriate steps in building sustainable transformation.
TIM’s Chief Network Operations & Wholesale Officer and Chair of the Global Leader Forum (GLF), Elisabetta Romano, said that the readiness needed to achieve this transformation is a capable network and infrastructure.
In fact, he said that strong infrastructure and networks are becoming more important technical and fundamental things instead of the industry only focusing on developing new technological intelligence such as the metaverse.
“The real answer is not about the metaverse, but it is about efforts towards the technical capabilities needed in the future,” said Romano to CNBC Indonesia at the BATIC 2023 event, quoted Friday (8/9/2023).
Through good infrastructure and networks, telecommunications operators can increasingly meet the large data capacities and speeds required by customers. That way, this can support more real-time data performance.
“It takes time for telecommunications operators to get this capacity and speed, this must be done in real-time and according to demand,” he explained.
Later, the only thing that must be confirmed is the pricing related to services that have been developed through digital transformation.
He emphasized that these matters are an urgency regarding the capabilities and requirements that the telecommunications industry must have to survive in the future.
“We need to become more flexible and adaptable to provide our customers with dynamic capabilities,” he concluded.
