Badung, CNBC Indonesia – Director of Digital Business PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Muhammad Fajrin Rasyid said the company was developing a blockchain aimed at Muslims. This innovation is related to halal certification for food products.
“Because once again, for Muslims it is important to be halal, so what we do is ensure that every ingredient contained in food and drinks comes from halal sources, right,” said Fajrin at The Westin Resort, Nusa Dua, Bali, Thursday (7/8/2023).
In this blockchain innovation, users will be able to track the composition of food products whether they come from halal raw materials or not.
According to him, this concept is still under development and testing. Where in this effort Telkom involved the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI).
“So we can track, this sugar comes from this, this food comes from this and so on. So that’s the theory and once again, we are still conducting trials or proof of concept with BWI,” concluded Fajrin.
