Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Rennata Hartati Pranata, or who is familiarly called Mak Ren or Mak Marmet, has proven that being a housewife is not a barrier to success. With extraordinary passion and determination, Mak Ren has turned her role as a housewife into an opportunity for growth and achievement.
From an experienced employee to a mother of three children who runs a business from home, her inspirational story has become a source of motivation for many mothers across Indonesia.
Before choosing to become a housewife, Mak Ren had worked as an employee for 15 years, including experience as a Customer Service Spv at a US Company. However, in 2017, when her second child was born, Mak Ren started a new journey in her life.
She struggles to breastfeed her child with unwavering enthusiasm, despite her status as a working mom. Moreover, Mak Ren does not rely on pumping machines, so only using her strength and perseverance in pumping breast milk with her own hands has inspired many young mothers, who are inspired by her enthusiasm and then become loyal followers on her personal Instagram account, @rennatapranata.
Through her participation as a resource person in various ASI seminars and motivators, Mak Ren is increasingly inspired to pursue her passion. She took the Lactation Management class so that the messages and information she conveyed when she was a resource person could be more in-depth and in accordance with the provisions. Facing the work from home (WFH) situation, Mak Ren was not only able to survive, but also turned challenges into opportunities. Because Mak Ren is used to actively working outside the home, she started to feel bored and eventually she started an online shop reseller business (olshop) that provides various needs for mothers and babies, such as skincare, baby bath care, children’s snacks, solid food ingredients, and many more.
With the support of its loyal followers, the olshop known as “LapakMakMarmet” has gained popularity and is selling well. This startup has won customer trust thanks to Mak Ren’s careful reviews and selection, making customers satisfied with the products and services of Bukalapak.
In 2021, when her third child was born, Mak Ren made a big decision to leave her office career behind and focus on being a complete housewife. This decision allowed him to be closer to his children and his online shop business. “Maybe this has become His way and I feel this is my calling to become an IRT,” said Mak Ren.
From a business that was originally started on a whim during the WFH pandemic, Mak Ren has achieved extraordinary achievements. He managed to renovate his house, buy a vehicle, and realize several wishlists that had been pending. He reminded that being a housewife is not an obstacle to achieving success. “In the past, I intended to resign so I could be with my children while still being productive from home, without having to leave them. Thank God, Allah provided a way,” he said.
