Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Cellular operators (Opsel) talk about the burden of costs that must be borne to support operations. One of them is related to the increasingly high frequency spectrum tax.
Director and Chief Business Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Muhammad Buldansyah said, Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) originating from the frequency spectrum has increased. In fact, according to him, the need for spectrum is very high.
“Social services have high digital demand. One of the most important structures is BTS, infrastructure, as well as spectrum,” he said, in Detikcom Leaders Forum: The Direction of the Indonesian Telecommunication Industryin Jakarta, Thursday (24/8/2023).
He likened the spectrum to land in the property business. Expensive land prices will make it difficult to build a house in the future.

“If it can be lowered or minimized, we can build more broadly, what is aspired to in Indonesia can be more effective in effectively empowering Indonesia,” he said.
The question of reducing the ratio of PNBP has actually been a discourse for a long time. He hopes that the appointment of Budi Arie Setiadi as the new Minister of Communication and Informatics can be realized very quickly.
“We have already talked about this problem, how to reduce the PNBP ratio regulatory cost even lower, it has been quite a while and hopefully with a new minister we can realize it as soon as possible,” explained the man who is familiarly called Danny.
