Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo met with Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Li Qiang at the Merdeka Palace, on Friday (8/9/2023). Jokowi stated that at the meeting he encouraged the PRC or China to realize a number of cooperation and investment commitments in Indonesia.
“This afternoon, I encourage China to support the realization of a number of cooperation and investment commitments in Indonesia,” wrote Jokowi via his Instagram account, quoted on Saturday (9/9/2023).
Jokowi said Indonesia and China had made new investment commitments of US$ 21.7 billion and expansion commitments of US$ 44.89 billion. According to him, this commitment was conveyed at a business meeting in Chengdu some time ago.
Jokowi also hopes that the Jakarta-Bandung fast train project can be completed soon. Apart from that, he hopes that China can establish concrete cooperation in the development of the Archipelago Capital City or IKN.
“The Indonesian government hopes that the Jakarta-Bandung fast train cooperation project (KCJB) can be completed soon, as well as the concrete implementation of cooperation between Indonesia and China in the development of the Archipelago Capital City (IKN),” he said.
