Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that the increasingly rapid development of technology has resulted in changes in people’s culture in daily transactions.
Jokowi said that the current technological disruption has made almost all community activities, including transactions, switch to digital. In fact, technological developments have made some people no longer need a wallet.
He said mobile phones have a very important role in meeting people’s needs, such as viewing food menus in restaurants, buying and selling transactions through marketplaces, ordering transportation, and making payments.
“Indeed, the world is currently experiencing technological disruption, especially digital technology. Everything is digital,” said Jokowi at the opening of the 23rd Conference of the Muhammadiyah Student Association which was broadcast on the YouTube account tvMu Channel, Saturday (19/8/2023).

“That’s why smartphones and cellphones (handphones) are very important at this time. If people used to go without a wallet, they could panic, get confused, and have to come back if they miss it, but when young people nowadays, they just carry it everywhere. one, smartphone. All in One,” Jokowi continued.
On the same occasion, Jokowi also highlighted the rapid development of artificial intelligence, aka artificial intelligence (AI), including in Indonesia. Apart from that, he also highlighted the presence of generative artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT.
“We all know ChatGPT. We ask anything, he (ChatGPT) can answer. He can be ordered to do an analysis. If he is told to prepare materials, he can do assignments, work on papers, do his thesis, he can do it,” said Jokowi.
Jokowi said the presence of generative artificial intelligence was able to facilitate all the needs of Indonesian students and people. Therefore, he said that the younger generation is superior because they grow up in the digital era.
“Therefore, my message is to study, master, develop and utilize everything for the welfare of the people so that you can become a formidable generation,” said Jokowi.
“Not only mastering science and technology (Science and Technology), but also having noble character, having good morals, and fighting for truth and humanity,” he added.
