Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo tried out the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train for the first time, Wednesday (13/9/2023). Not alone, the President invited a number of public figures, including Raffi Ahmad, Gading Marten, Cak Lontong, Yuni Shara, and the Indonesian Princesses.
In the group, Jokowi also invited the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir, and the Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmuddin.
“Bismillah,” said Jokowi, exactly at 09.00 WIB when the train started moving.

In the photo uploaded by Raffi Ahmad, Jokowi appears relaxed enjoying the journey in the train carriage which appears to have a luxurious interior. Jokowi occasionally chats with the guests he invites, discussing their experiences trying out the train.
“As a person who was born in Bandung and I am a person who now lives in Jakarta, I certainly feel happy and proud to see this @keretacepat_id “Jakarta-Bandung will be operational soon for all of us,” said Raffi.
“So for Bandung people it’s good, there’s no need to move to Jakarta,” he said again.

The government will officially operate the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train starting October 1 2023. According to the plan, operations will be carried out in stages starting from 8 train trips in October. Furthermore, in November there will be 28 train trips, in December there will be 40 train trips, and in January 2024 there will be 68 train trips.
Based on trials, The fast train journey from Halim Station to Padalarang Station takes around 30 minutes with a top speed of up to 352 km/hour.
Main Director of the Indonesia China Fast Train (KCIC) Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi has confirmed that there is no fare subsidy for the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train. The fare will be set at around IDR 250,000-350,000 depending on the class chosen by the prospective passenger.
