Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo tested the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) today, Wednesday (13/9/2023). The fast train trial was carried out from Jakarta to Bandung and back to Jakarta.
Jokowi traveled by fast train starting from Halim Station, East Jakarta at 09:00 WIB and arrived at Padalarang Station at 09.25 WIB, taking only about 25 minutes. Continue using the Feeder Train from Padalarang Station at 09.40 WIB and arrive at Bandung Station at 09.55 WIB. Thus, the time spent on fast trains and feeder trains is only around 40 minutes. Jokowi then returned to Jakarta with the same pattern.
In this trial, Jokowi was accompanied, among others, by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir, Minister of ATR/BPN Hadi Tjahjanto, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin, Director KAI Principal Didiek Hartantyo, and KCIC Principal Director Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi.
Apart from that, there are also artists and influencers such as Vino G Bastian, Marsha Timothy, Nirina Zubir, Yuni Shara, Cak Lontong, Armand Maulana, and Raffi Ahmad.
“I’ve been to the fast train project 4 times but this was the first time I tried it. It’s comfortable, and on that occasion 350 km/hour didn’t feel at all whether I was sitting or walking. So, yes, this is civilization,” said President Jokowi .

Jokowi hopes that when this high-speed train operates, people will move to use public transportation, whether LRT, MRT, TransJakarta or high-speed trains. Because losses due to traffic jams reach IDR 100 trillion in the Jabodetabek and Bandung areas.
KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo ensures that the construction of the Fast Train and Feeder Train is carried out with safety and compliance with established standards. The infrastructure development process for the fast train is being closely monitored because it is planned to have a service life of up to 100 years.
During the construction period, each stage of infrastructure development is carried out with a high level of precision and is equipped with layers of supervision. This is done to ensure that the fast train infrastructure meets established standards and can be used safely.
Apart from that, to support the integrated connectivity of the Jakarta – Bandung Fast Train, KAI has prepared a Feeder Train service on the Bandung – Cimahi – Padalarang route. This Feeder Train service will transport fast train passengers from Padalarang Station to Bandung Station or vice versa with a travel time of only 19 minutes. There are 72 Feeder Train trips every day, consisting of 36 round trips between Padalarang and Bandung, with a time delay between trains of 25 minutes.
Didiek also invited all parties involved, both from Indonesia and China, to work together to make this project a success, while still implementing the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG).
