Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially launched the second phase of food aid in the form of 10 kg of rice at the DKI Jakarta-Banten Bulog Warehouse located in Kelapa Gading, Monday (11/9/23). This is the second distribution of food aid, which will be given for 3 months to 21.353 million beneficiary families (KPM).
As is known, the first phase of rice aid distribution was carried out in March-May 2023, while the second phase is for September-November 2023. This rice aid comes from government rice reserves (CBP) in the Bulog warehouse, which is expected to reduce rice inflation. domestically.
Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir also asked state-owned food companies such as Bulog to optimize the food aid program. He said, BUMN must be able to maintain the trust of the government and the president to be present in helping the community.
“BUMN has a big role not only as a development agent, but also in social aspects such as carrying out assignments to help the community through food aid programs,” he said while accompanying the President to check rice stocks at the Bulog Dramaga Warehouse, Bogor Regency, West Java.
“Thank God, the food aid program for 21.3 million underprivileged families began to be distributed by BUMN today. I have asked BUMN to ensure that the distribution can run smoothly and is truly on target,” said Erick.
Before launching the food aid program, the President also visited the Dramaga Bulog Warehouse, Bogor Regency, West Java, to check the availability and safety of rice stocks.
According to him, the President has ensured that Bulog has a stock of 1.5 million tons of rice, which is still enough to meet people’s needs.
“God willing, BUMN will continue to synergize with each other, such as Bulog and Pos Indonesia, which starting today are distributing rice aid to all 34 provinces in Indonesia,” continued Erick.
“Hopefully this effort can help people who need rice assistance. BUMN will continue to collaborate with many parties, including the National Food Agency and other ministries and institutions to ensure that the distribution of aid can run optimally,” he concluded.
