Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Telkom opened two types of data center businesses. One of them is a small-scale data center called Neucentrix and is reportedly selling well.
This was stated by the Main Director of Telkom, Ririek Adriansyah. He explained that Neucentrix is in tiers 2 and 3, spread across almost all Indonesian provinces.
“[Ada] 26-27 tier 2 and 3 data centers in almost all provinces. “It became a hot seller when it was inaugurated, many people used it,” said Ririek, in CNBC Indonesia ProfitsMonday (20/11/2023).
Another data center owned by Telkom is a large scale one. One of them already exists in Cikarang and is preparing to be built in Batam.
Especially for Batam, this area was chosen to attract many users. Not only users from within the country, but also from Singapore.
“Having hyper scale at several points in Cikarang, Batam will build it. In Batam it can serve domestic and Singapore because electricity is limited,” he said.
Users of this data center come from large tenants. Ririek said they had started entering since mid-2023.
“Some of the big tenants started coming in in June. Not yet big in numbers, but they are starting to come in,” said Ririek.
“So our data center in Cikarang has started to produce encouraging results,” he added.
It is hoped that the good results obtained by this data center can be maintained for positive performance in the future. Ririek said that Q3-2023 performance also achieved good results, one of which was driven by the data center business.
“Then it will be one way to improve our performance in Q3. We hope it can be sustainable in the next quarter and the following years,” he concluded.
