Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan revealed that he would return to try the Jakarta – Bandung Fast Train after the ASEAN Summit in Jakarta. The plan is that Luhut will invite Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
“Yes, on September 8 I will accompany the Chinese Prime Minister to try Bandung,” when asked about the operation of KCJB, at the Presidential Palace Complex, Friday (1/9/2023).
In addition, when asked about KCJB tariffs that would be given a Public Service Obligation or subsidy, Luhut was still not sure. “We don’t know yet, we’ll see,” said Luhut.
Previously, Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) revealed that the operation of the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train still needed time. Meanwhile, the free trial for the public starts in September 2023.
“The fast train will probably be tested again in September, once everything is ready. So it’s confirmed,” said Jokowi at the Dukuh Atas LRT Station, Jakarta, Thursday (10/8/2023).
Previously, KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa revealed that to ensure the trial program during the pre-operational period of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train relationship could run well, currently KCIC continues to make preparations on various sides.
“In accordance with government directives, it is planned that the pre-operational trial will take place starting in early September 2023. During this period, the public can try the Fast Train Jakarta – Bandung relation free of charge,” said Eva to CNBC Indonesia, Wednesday (9/8/2023).
In parallel, KCIC also carried out certification of both fast train facilities and infrastructure with the Ministry of Transportation. KCIC fully follows these stages by preparing various data and information needed in the framework of a smooth certification process.
KCIC continues to prepare all readiness both operational and station facilities, one of which is related to the station. Later, when the station starts serving passengers, it is ensured that the available access is ready for use.
During the free trial period, KCIC will involve various stakeholders, especially the community around the fast train route. The involvement of residents around the fast train route is a form of KCIC’s appreciation for the participation and support of the community around the fast train route so that the fast train construction process can run smoothly.
“Besides that, there will also be an opportunity for other people who want to take part in the free trial by registering independently. The mechanism and provisions for people who want to take part in the free trial will soon be officially announced through the KCIC information channel,” he concluded.
