Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf), Sandiaga Uno, opened his voice regarding the quite a lot of chaos that was happening outside venues when before and immediately after Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ Jakarta concert was held.
One of the chaos that Sandi highlighted was the large number of ticket holders who were unable to enter venues. According to him, this is the reason why many potential spectators are stuck outside venues is because of the large number of fake tickets from scalpers.
“One of the problems that quickly came to light was ticket counterfeiting by brokers who violated the law and committed crimes, namely duplicating around 39 tickets which were duplicated into more than 2,200 tickets,” said Sandi in Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Monday (20/11/2023).
“As a result, many thousands of spectators were unable to enter because their tickets had expired.scans,” he added.
Sandi said that this problem had been followed up quickly by law enforcement. According to him, the perpetrators of ticket fraud have passed the inspection stage and will then be processed according to applicable law.
“For some who couldn’t enter because the atmosphere was not conducive, there was mediation for a resolution with the promoter (PK Entertainment),” said Sandi.
Apart from the ticket problem, Sandi also highlighted the problem of traffic jams that occurred outside the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium area after the concert was held. Regarding this, Sandi appreciated the MRT and TransJakarta.
“Thank you to the MRT and TransJakarta for facilitating so that there are no extraordinary traffic jams even though I work outside,” said Sandi.
Even though there were various problems, Sandi admitted that he was grateful for the overall success of Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ Jakarta concert. going on smoothly. Moreover, the British band’s first concert managed to gather around 80 thousand spectators.
Previously, quite a few netizens reported various problems during the concert, especially before entering the concert area, via X (formerly Twitter).
Meanwhile, problems generally experienced by spectators include being cheated by brokers, original tickets that cannot be scanned and have been used by unknown people, disabled spectators who have difficulty accessing the concert, many spectators entering without tickets, and even the concert doors being broken down.
