Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Sarinah (Persero) plans to expand overseas. This is done in order to realize Sarinah’s vision and mission to improve the development of National MSMEs.
The main director of PT Sarinah, Fetty Kwartati, revealed that since its establishment in 1962, Sarinah has aimed to support the economy of the Indonesian people through local products and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Thus, expansion outside DKI Jakarta, including overseas, is expected to be a step towards realizing this vision and mission.

“Sarinah will be born in another location. One day, Sarinah will be everywhere, in the regions, also abroad to represent Indonesia’s superior products and the works of the nation’s children,” said Fetty in the BUMN Performance Report 2023 Program CNBC Indonesia, Thursday (31/08/2023).
In order to realize this target, Fetty said that his party would carry out a thorough transformation and adjust the business concept and strategy. In addition, through Indonesian Journey (InJourney) membership, PT Sarinah will also increase its role by participating in managing the SOE’s retail area.
“What we’re doing is of course transforming end-to-end. That is, not only the business, but also the back office. Starting from human capital, IT systems, and also business processes,” said Fetty.
“Sarinah is a member of InJourney, so Sarinah’s role can be expanded. Previously, she only managed her own store, she could manage retail areas belonging to other SOEs. With consolidation and collaboration, Sarinah can focus on the core business as retail management,” he continued.
On the same occasion, Fetty revealed that currently the occupancy rate of Sarinah is above 90 percent. According to Fetty, the increase in self-confidence after the pandemic has played a major role in the interest of business people to open shops in Sarinah.
“There are two kinds of tenant occupancy, from restaurant tenants, cafes, and also MSME partners who join the Sarinah store,” said Fetty.
