Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Main Director of Perum Bulog Budi Waseso (Buwas) asked the e-commerce party to take down (carry out a takedown) of recalcitrant traders selling Supply and Market Price Stabilization (SPHP) rice products or 5 kg packaged market operation rice on its platform.
This followed the discovery of traders selling SPHP rice on their online stalls at high prices.
“Later we will communicate again (to e-commerce) so that it can be conveyed (decreased),” stressed Buwas to journalists at Lottemart Wholesale Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, Friday (8/9/2023).
Buwas will even ask for help from the National Police Food Task Force to trace traders who sell SPHP rice online.
“Later it will come from the Food Task Force. If there are irregularities, they will be investigated,” he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi said that his party would communicate with the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) so that they could convey this issue directly to e-commerce.
Because according to Arief, the authority in charge of sales transactions, both online and offline, lies with the Ministry of Trade.
“Later we will take it down. We will talk to the Minister of Trade,” said Arief.
Furthermore, Arief said that currently SPHP rice, which is priced at IDR 54,500 per 50 kg package, will only be focused on sales in modern retail and traditional markets, not for sale in online markets. Apart from that, retail sales of SPHP rice are also limited, each customer is only allowed to buy 2-3 pieces per person.
“Let everything be found, right? If there are no restrictions, it will be difficult later,” he said.
Meanwhile, based on CNBC Indonesia’s search on the Shopee platform, online seller TokonyaYaisy in Depok City sells 5 kg SPHP rice for IDR 63,500. A similar thing was also found in the shop window of a trader with the account name SCP.net who was selling SPHP rice for IDR 65,000.
